Community Trapper Program

COVID-19 UPDATE:  all community trapper training seminars are cancelled until further notice.  All trapping is suspended until spring, 2021, at the earliest.

Our community trappers are specially trained volunteers who help individuals and businesses trap cats for TNR.  Using Craig Street Cats' equipment and supplies, they coordinate with property owners to schedule trapping and return of sterilized cats.

Our community trappers are available to help those individuals and businesses that are not able to participate in our Colony Manager Program.  Trapping dates are set to synchronize with our veterinary surgery schedule, to minimize the length of time cats are in our care.  Adult cats and kittens over 3 months of age are sterilized, vaccinated against distemper, upper respiratory diseases and rabies, then returned to the place they were trapped.  Kittens under 3 months of age are placed in our adoption program.  Property owners must agree to provide food and water for the cats every day, and to provide access to simple shelter during cold weather.

The fee for the program is $150 per cat or kitten to be trapped.  It is payable before trapping starts.
