Summer Student Intern Program
Each summer Craig Street Cats offers volunteer internship placements to up to 10 high school students. Summer interns help care for cats and kittens, and fill in as necessary when regular volunteers are away.

Our summer interns will learn:
Internship will appeal to students who love animals and want to work with them. Interns may be able to use hours earned in the program for course credit (check with your school to confirm if this is possible for you). Students hoping to enter Veterinary Assistant training or Registered Animal Health Technologist training will find the experience very valuable.
On successful completion of the program, interns will receive a certificate of participation, and a $500 honorarium.
Program applications are due by June 15th. Interviews take place in June. To apply, please download the application package, print it out, and collect all necessary materials. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian sign your application before you bring it in.
All applicants must include proof of vaccination against COVID-19 with their application package.

Qualifications:
- 16+
- reliable
- available to work 20+ hours every week, from July 1st to Sept. 2nd (150 hours over the summer)
- able to follow instructions
- not afraid of hard work
- not afraid of cats

- proper feeding for cats and kittens
- how to clean cat cages and free range rooms
- accurate record keeping
- how to recognize when a cat is not feeling well
- how to work with shy cats and kittens
