Neo-Natal Kitten Nursery

Picture
Very young kittens are extremely fragile, and finding experienced foster homes for very young orphans is incredibly difficult.  Our adoption centre allows us to keep the babies on site, and have volunteers come in to feed them, 24 hours per day.  This means that a few experienced bottle baby feeders can mentor new people, and fewer people can save more lives.

Like human babies, newborn kittens require feeding every 2 hours.  They must be kept warm, and they must be stimulated to evacuate their bladders and bowels.  Volunteers in our nursery learn to do all these things, and more, to make sure that kittens in our care survive past this fragile stage, so that they can move onto a great foster home once they have learned to eat on their own.

Although this has been done in several U.S. cities, we believe that ours may be the first such unit in Canada -- at least, we haven't been able to find information on any others.  If you would like to be part of the team that is saving more kitten lives, please let us know by filling out the form below.  We need volunteer feeders around the clock!  Don't worry if you've never bottle fed a kitten before -- we'll be happy to show you how!

Due to COVID-19, no training sessions will be scheduled until further notice.
